Playing in the school

School Playgroups They are spaces that we generate within public schools in Peru, dedicated to free play and through other recreational activities. Our Education and Development Foundation aims to promote the comprehensive development of boys and girls through recreational, creative and educational activities, combining play with learning during recess time. In these spaces, boys and girls have the opportunity to explore, experiment and socialize in a safe environment accompanied by volunteer teachers, mothers and university volunteers in the area of Psychology and Education.

This is promoted by the high rate of school violence that is being observed in public schools, including all types of discrimination. Therefore, our intervention consists of providing various recreational alternatives such as traditional games, lies, spinning top, toy corner, dance, sports, board games, among others. At the same time, they are spaces where children can propose their activities so that they are applied. All of this generates a space of coexistence and respect in the schoolyards where boys and girls of all ages play various games, NOT JUST FOOTBALL.

Benefits of the Playgroup

Cognitive and Emotional Development

Play encourages skills such as memory, creativity, problem solving and decision making, and helps children express and understand their emotions.

Inclusion and Accessibility

Playgroups usually offer a variety of games and activities suitable for different ages and abilities, promoting an inclusive environment where all students can participate and enjoy.

Development of Social Skills

By playing together, students learn to cooperate, take turns, and resolve conflicts peacefully, important skills for their coexistence in the school environment and beyond.

Develop your Autonomy

By allowing children to explore their interests and express themselves freely in a safe environment, playgroups contribute to their emotional development and strengthen their self-esteem.

Playing in the school
